Some inspiring websites://

A selection of websites that show a nice innovative design direction, that relates to the type of design I would like to produce. Although these might not be suitable for what I need for Though Publication, I think it's still useful to have a look at the possibilities and range of website designs that are available already.

HEYDAYS
An Oslo based studio focusing on design for print, identity, design direction and graphic design. Not only is there work pretty amazing, their website's been really well designed, with a clear and consistent feel throughout. The information is balanced well with the use of images and the user interface is brilliant.
Jan Erik Svendsen
Website of Jan Eric Svendsen, a photographer who is currently based in Oslo who has worked with a wide range of clients, on commercial to portraiture work. The first thing that striked me with Svendsen's site was the fact that it worked in a landscape format as opposed to scrolling down. The flash website has a nice clean layout to it that works really well with it's flash interface. The site is extremely easy to navigate around and demonstrates a neat way of displaying a lot of image thumbnails.

AisleOne
One of my favourite sites for type and grid related design inspiration. Designed by Antonio Carusone who is the author of The Grid System, it's no surprise that the design of the site is driven by a nice layout that conforms to a strict grid system. The site has an emphasis on typography, graphic design and minimalism and the design definitely reflects this.

In terms of the user interface, the site has a 'list' and a 'grid' view, offering users a choice of how they would like to browse the site, depending on what they're looking for. It also utilises the arrow keys on the keyboard to navigate around the site, which enhances the user experience.
