Onlab://

Another one of my favourite design studios at the moment, Onlab are a Berlin based Graphic Design studio who work on both commissioned and self initiated work while still being able to publish a number of their own books on design related subjects.

"Dissolving Boundaries, Resolving Worlds - Architectural reflection on camouflage"
An interesting editorial piece by the Berlin based design studio, the use of text as image throughout the layout works really well while still reflecting it's subject matter. This design direction probably won't be suitable in relation to our current ideas with the P&O brief, but definitely a concept that we could develop into something intended deliberately for our resolution.

Family://

Nice bold editorial by a design studio called Family. Aswell as the subject of it, I particularly like the choice of stock to apply colour and the use of binding a smaller booklet onto the main piece.

Your Friends://

Your Friends are a Graphic Design & Art direction studio in Oslo, probably one of my most desired design studios that I would do anything to work for! Their work's often very clean, appropriate and type/layout driven.

Below I have posted a few examples of their work that are more relevant to the P&O project that I'm working on at the moment.

Janine Rewell://

Very nice editorial piece again, with an element of interactivity by Janine Rewell.
'ATTENTION BOOK
Design of an interactive book about paying attention and revealing further depths.'

Julie Michel://

Some pretty inspiring editorial and print based designs by Julie Michel from France. It's a shame that the site's in french but thanks for google translate, I am able to gather a rough idea of what these pieces are about.

My way No.03
An interactive map that encourages tourists to plan their trip and appreciate their experience by documenting their thoughts. With our current design direction of creating a loose guide of exploring Europe with your car through an interactive piece, this map is definitely inspiring some of my ideas.

Another impressive piece by Michel, this time in a form of an editorial book. Not entirely sure what this is about, but it seems to run alongside the maps judging by the title and the inaccurate translation from google maps. My way no.01 carries the interactive elements of the map design while pulling together a clean finish with the use of simple colours and bold typography.

Existing P&O Ads/Commercials://

Looking at the existing/ past ads and commercials for P&O ferries. From our surveys, the people who haven't used P&O ferries before to travel to Europe were the ones who haven't heard about the company itself, which made me question whether they are doing enough to advertise themselves. Do people know what they do? The services they provide in terms of facilities, destinations etc. What is their message that they're are trying to portray in their commercials?
