Very well considered publication for Linotype designed by Germany based design studio Magma Brand Design. I really like the layout considerations and overall execution of the whole thing ranging from the type chosen throughout to the choice of stock used for the cover and the spreads. Can't help but be inspired but such a nicely designed publication, for both my design practice and directly towards my LCA Catalogue.

Door lock
Interesting and humorous lock system for a door, possibly not the most efficient lock but definitely something that makes you question whether it can actually be viable or not. A piece that is making me consider the more daring and unconventional ideas that are involved with graphic design around interior spaces.
Calendar by Calouette
A pretty innovative calendar by Calouette. Probably not very relevant to my design practice but definitely quite inspiring and an influence towards my ideas and how I should approach the brief I'm working on for Ocon Apartments.
The calendar is constructed out ot 366 acrylic sheets that has been laser cut into, forming each date and month. This provides the user with an interesting focal point to their office, which is both functional and innovative. The calendar allows users to handwrite notes for each date, and as they aren't throwing anything away, the calendar can be reused again and again.

Neue Branding
A newly discovered design studio based in Oslo with some amazing work and a solid client list. One of the main piece that caught my attention was the brand identity and materials for Nordkyn, a tourist attraction in Norway that has a focus on nature. Their concept was to focus on the notion of nature, while still communicating an exciting and forward thinking brand, the solution is a 'live logo that changes along with direction and temperature' Neue's design solution for their identity is bold and innovative, which seems to work extremely well throughout a range of both digital and printed outputs. Eventhough each logo is slightly different, it's still easily recognisable as being part of Nordkyn.
For my Living Space brief, I will be rebranding and developing a range if wayfinding and printed materials for Ocon Construction Limited who currently has numerous projects going on around the UK, therefore one of my ideas was to redevelop the whole brand across all the projects that they have. Something to think about anyway.

Terada Design
Some interesting and clinical looking signage system by Terada Design, a Toyko based design and architecture firm. I just love how simple the format it, using a single sheet of material that bends and adapts to the 3D environment.
P-06 Atelier
A Portugal based design team with an interesting selection of environment and wayfinding projects that are inspiring for my current project on living space.
Théâtre et Auditorium de Poitiers
Interesting use of type and layout for this environmental space, just shows how simple use of type, colours and the awareness of it's surroundings can make a good piece of design. Sometimes it's not just about filling up all the space with information, but instead keeping it direct and functional with a considered approach can still make it work. It's a shame that the site seems to be in Portuguese, and there's not much information on each project.

Marque Creative
Some bold type driven wayfinding design work for the North Glasgow College designed by Marque. The range of signage and design direction utilises bold typography that's appropriately applied to the environment, offering a functional way finding system while complimenting the surroundings.
The use of bold type is relatively simple, the information is stripped down to the bare minimum
With studios in New York, Glasgow and London, Marque have a very strong and inspirational portfolio of work and envious client list ranging from infographics and signage for academic organisations to branding materials for high end restaurants.
A few other projects that caught my attention that either relates to my design practice and the type of work I want to produce or is relevant to my current Living Space brief.
Haggs Gate
Marque were commissioned by an investment division of National Australia Bank to collaborate with a great team of specialists on creating the brand and marketing campaign for a contemporary development of apartments and penthouses on Glasgow's south side.
A strong set of materials that cover the vast array of design materials that I have been working towards for the Living Space brief. Although my target audience is quite different to the ones that these are designed towards, it's still relatively inspiring to look at the quality and breadth of work produced towards a similar sector.
Brand strategy and communication materials for Medini - what seems to be a land investment company based in Malaysia. Nevertheless, the materials delivered by Marque are outstanding as ever, the design materials range from publications, website design to design guidelines and colour specs.
I particularly like this poster like print, the range of text and images really compliment each other, the layout itself is pretty solid aswell even though several colours are used which can often confuse and overcomplicate things.
